I had done this accidentally as one of the sketchbook assignments. It was for the type text so I am posting it anyhow : )

Animal Morphing Project

These are for the animal morphing project. I was doing a cat because I like the natural curves their body creates when they sit up.  I did 2 robotic versions, a stretched and a shaded one. 

Pencil Shading

This is for the pencil shading sketchbook assignment. Shading this way took three times as long as normal but was interesting.

Collage Project - Magazine Cutouts

I did my collage on the idea that you are lying back in your bed and as you fall asleep your mind begins to wonder, thoughts mingle in and out of reality just as the images take over creating a dream. A few elements of the person's bedroom are still there like the candles, pillows.  I used the two bed posts to symbolize the viewer is in bed, seeing their thoughts take shape as the room morphs into the dream. The first picture had a glare from the flash so I uploaded a second but it was almost too dark.  Oh well!

Inspiration

Salivador Dali is the artist I chose for this assignment.  He was one of the first artist I was interested in back in high school that got me into painting & drawing.  I admire his talent to paint lifelike portraits & sureal art but how he also would stray from the normal into his own perception of life. Most know his paiting of the melting clocks.

I have drawn & painted this image of the women with the burning giraffe for projects throughout my previous art classes.  Its been good practice.
